Need dessert ideas!

itscool2bniceAug 27, 9:46 AM

As the title suggests im in need of some inspiration when it comes to healthy but still cheap dessert ideas!! My current go to when I want something sweet after dinner tends to just be peanut butter with frozen fruits and a cup of tea but it’s getting a bit… samey :/ I don’t tend to buy yogurt but I have all the pantry ‘staple’ type things. But all ideas would be very welcome just so I can get a bit of inspiration!

I like the secret veggie desserts - zucchini bread, or the last brownie mix I made, instead of adding oil I added a shredded summer squash. Or pie filling, I don't always bother with a crust, just the custardy part of pumpkin pie, or tofu based pies.

Uncooked oats (like half a cup or so) scoop of peanut butter & some honey. Mix it all up til you get a cookie dough consistency and eat. Thats been my go to when I want something sweet lately.

My "I read this once online" banana bread takes any old banana bread recipe and bastardizes it with every baking alternative online. Apple sauce instead of butter, chia seeds instead of eggs, sweetened coconut flakes to replace half the sugar, shredded zucchini and/or carrots because idk what the difference is between banana/zucchine/carrot bread, so why not add them all? I always add whatever i have in my pantry and it always ends ups fine. Sometimes a bit moist, sometimes a bit dense, but always super filling and reliably delish!

Chia seed pudding…you can use chocolate, fruits/berries, nuts/nut butters, etc. to have a variety of flavors.

…sugar free jello with sugar free whipped topping is my go to…makes you believe you are eating sugar…and actually tastes like it also…mix up a box and divide it into about 5 smaller containers…then add the whipped cream…

I do this too with muffins! I avoid coconut though, it is high in saturated fat and can raise cholesterol a lot.

Chocolate chips + coconut oil = single serve chocolate dip for whatever fruit you want.

Look up Cailee Eats... She has great desserts.

From a bag of chocolate chips you can get in the baking aisle: Plus raisins = Raisinets Plus nuts = Hershey with nuts in it Plus peanut butter = Reese's cups, but not quite as sweet. I came up with this when I wanted chocolate but I didn't want to go to the store. Simply mix them. You don't have to melt the chocolate.

A little whipped cream on strawberries.

  • alsothefiredrake·Aug 31, 4:52 AM

    Parfaits

You could make mini cheesecakes in a muffin pan (use liners). No need to make a graham cracker crust, just put a ginger snap in the bottom. Use any recipe you like, and freeze some in a zip-top bag.

Chia pudding saves me from eating junk.

Strawberries with homemade whipped cream or chocolate chip cookie dough dip made from garbanzo beans and peanut butter

My go to lately is yogurt with frozen fruit and granola it’s soooo good and easy to throw together. I put a ton of whatever fruit I have on hand and it makes a huge bowl.

  • sailortofu69_2·Sep 6, 5:12 AM

Oooo I’ve never done this before!

  • margo_beep_beep·Sep 6, 6:22 AM

I realized you can just microwave apples - I think that's a great dessert with some cinnamon. You can add cottage cheese or yogurt if you'd like some protein.

Once when I was really craving banana bread I had a mashed banana with greek yogurt, walnuts, honey, and chocolate chips and it actually hit the spot. So much less time and effort

  • vegetable_money4890·Sep 6, 10:20 PM

Just dip any fruit in dark chocolate

  • bogummyy·Sep 6, 10:29 PM

if you do take yogurt, you can make your own yogurt bark! Basically just freezing your yogurt with toppings (fruits, granolo, nuts) on a tray and break them up for easier storage.

  • ill_marionberry9177·Sep 8, 3:20 AM

    Chickpea cookie dough

  • cornonthekopp·Sep 8, 4:36 AM

I was gonna say just eat the chocolate itself haha. I always have a bag on hand for snacking

  • sea_witch7777_2·Sep 8, 5:09 AM

Throw milk and honey in the Ninja Creami with a little vanilla
