EASY CRUNCHY CHICKEN SALAD
ramiloverAug 21, 11:44 AM
* 2 pieces chicken breast * 0.3 pieces red cabbage * 3 pieces celery sticks * 1 pieces crispy apple (e.g. Cosmic Crisp or Pink Lady) * 2 tbsp mayo * 3 tbsp white yogurt * 1 tbsp maple syrup * 1 tbsp mustard * 4 garlic cloves * 1 cup water **Method** 1. Bake the chicken: Place 2 pieces chicken breast in a baking dish with 1 cup of water and 3 pieces of garlic cloves. Bake in the oven until cooked through — about 45 mins. 2. Shred the chicken: Shred the baked chicken using two forks. If you own a stand mixer, use it and it should sort itself out. 3. Prep the slaw: Thinly slice 0.3 pieces red cabbage, cut 3 pieces celery sticks into thin slices, and chop 1 pieces crispy apple (e.g. Cosmic Crisp or Pink Lady). Make sure you get a really good crispy apple — it matters. 4. Make the dressing: Mix 3 tablespoons mayo and 3 tablespoons white yogurt together 50/50. Add 1 tablespoons maple syrup for a bit of sweetness and 1 teaspoons mustard for spiciness. Mix well. 5. Combine and serve: Toss the shredded chicken with the slaw, then add the dressing and mix everything together. Hope you enjoy! I ate this on a toasted bread so it was crunch on crunch on crunch [Photo here!](https://theoatandberry.com/2026/03/29/easy-crunchy-chicken-salad/)

I really hoped the link would explain the "0.3 pieces cabbage," but no it just dropped that same quantity with no explanation. Maybe it's a language issue

it’s not a very good recipe. cooking chicken for 45 min in the oven? just poach it stovetop!

Yes, sorry not a native english speaker. I mean a third of the whole cabbage head. I had a small one around a kilo so it might be 350g-400g

That makes sense. Also, just a personal thing: I know a lot of recipes will call for "X carrots Y celery Z chicken breasts" but these things vary wildly in size; I kinda wish people would normalize volume/weight measurements for most ingredients. It's not necessarily important to the gram (or ounce), but if someone calls for three carrots and all the carrots at the store are gigantic while all the carrots in the garden are normal size, then someone following a recipe could have an overwhelming carrot flavor. Or barely any carrot. Like, I know my taste and your taste won't be the same, but at least give me an idea what your original intent is so I can know how I'm changing it? Idk, just a long rant about a lot of internet recipes

No you are absolutely right. I am just starting out, it's a little hobby I decided to expand and I am glad to hear what makes people mad. Also what you said makes pefect sense
