We took a bedroom in our basement and made it into our home gym.

You get that much natural light...in your basement?

  • jessiecat332·Jul 9, 7:29 AM

The placement of your TV is fantastic! I also like watching TV while running.

  • abusivepach_2·Jul 9, 7:51 AM

Yes, we get lots of light in the basement simply because of how the house faces.

Awesome setup. I hope to do almost exactly the same equipment. Schwinn IC4? How do you like it?

  • fast_lemon_1776·Jul 9, 9:18 AM

Carpet! Wow, what a change from the norm

  • columbapacis·Jul 9, 9:30 AM

And your basement is looking at a hedge through a full wall height window... how? This is literally NOT a basement.

  • vegetable_use7127·Jul 10, 12:44 PM

The house might sit on a hill though

You can do much with the setup, but if you claim ‘everything i need’ i would argue a pullup bar is missing. ‘Everything you want’, fits better here :)

The topography of our lot makes it so this side of our home has a walk out basement. The huge windows are a plus.

  • abusivepach_4·Jul 11, 6:12 PM

We like the IC4 . We changed the seat and put our own SPD pedals. The resistance is smooth.

  • abusivepach_5·Jul 12, 5:11 PM

To be fair, I have wanted a pull up bar. Need to fit that in.

  • abusivepach_6·Jul 12, 6:01 PM

We needed a carpet in that room. Without the carpet, the room sounded hollow and echoed.

Cardio takes up the most space, if I were me I would just leave one

  • consistent_ocelot398·Jul 12, 10:20 PM

Nice start honestly...Its easy to keep buying stuff, but using the setup for a few weeks usually tells u what you really need.

  • square_nebula_7530·Jul 12, 10:27 PM

looks super clean and cozy for now but give it 2 or 3 months of browsing this sub and you will definitely start eyeballing a folding squat rack a barbell and 500 lbs of bumper plates to fill up that open floor space on the right wall it always starts out as just 1 treadmill and 1 dumbbell set until the homegym bug hits you in full force enjoy the private space man

  • gloomy_blueberry6696·Jul 12, 10:47 PM

    Nice natural light

  • successful_tennis567·Jul 12, 11:53 PM

Sweet! Just need a pull up bar or a D-ring bolted to the wall for resistance bands to work out your back.

  • pishypanties·Jul 13, 2:09 AM

This is a wonderful space. The light. Will you change the flooring ?

  • abusivepach_7·Jul 13, 3:12 AM

No change with the flooring. We went with the squares so we could replace as needed. We like the feel of the carpet.

  • dry_jackfruit3495·Jul 13, 3:22 AM

    Squat rack?
