Gear

It’s never really finished, but here’s where I’m at.

gxxxidSep 19, 6:17 PM

Finally got everything assembled and dialed in. Really happy with how it turned out. Still a few small things I’d like to upgrade in the future, but it’s finally at the point where I can just enjoy training. Let me know what you think or what you’d add next!

**That’s awesome to hear! I absolutely love the clear coat uprights and the footplate. Glad to know it’s still going strong after two years.**

These machines look cool. What uses the weight stacks on either side. I noticed plates and a barbell. I’m guess big 3 lifts use front uprights/floor and barbell/plates?

Yep! The barbell is for all my main lifts, including hip thrusts using the seat attachment on the uprights. The dual weight stacks are for all my cable accessories like lat pulldowns, rows, flyes, curls, pushdowns, and lateral raises.

The photo didn't capture the color well but mine's black too. The footplate is definitely worth it if you do low rows. You may also notice that my weights are hanging midway out on the horns -- especially on the right. I used some cheap weight collars to block them from sliding all the way in because otherwise they get in the way of the weight adder pin for low rows or lat pull downs (although I don't really use it for lat pulldowns). Just flagging this in case it's helpful. I also bought some 3d printed weight horns from etsy to hold the 2.5lb plates on the top side bars (added after this photo) which I'd highly recommend if you're trying to figure out where to put those.

I have the same rack, and this (the cheap collars as spacers) is such a simple solution to a problem that has driven me crazy

I’m pushing two years with my rack, and it works flawlessly, though I do have some rust under the clear coat (originally ordered black but got stuck in the Black Friday 2024 mess). How do you like that rep seat? I have the vesta pulldown seat, but have toyed with getting a different one (it fits poorly and wobbles)
